RISE implements technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. The sleep, activity, and health data you share with RISE is used only to generate your in-app insights — like sleep debt, sleep need, and your Energy Schedule. RISE doesn't provide your health data to data brokers or advertisers.
What data does RISE collect?
RISE collects only the data needed to track your sleep and generate your personalized energy predictions. This includes:
- Account data: Your email address and password (used to create and secure your account).
- Motion & activity data: Collected through Apple's Core Motion framework to detect sleep and wake times.
- Step data: Used to differentiate between active and inactive periods for more accurate sleep detection.
- Apple Health or Health Connect data (optional): If you grant permission, RISE reads sleep data, exercise minutes, workouts, and time in daylight from Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android) to improve accuracy.
RISE doesn't access your contacts, photos, microphone, or location.
Does RISE sell my data or show ads?
No, RISE doesn't sell personal health data or display ads inside the app. The data you share with RISE -- including sleep times, sleep debt, and activity data -- is used solely to power your in-app experience. RISE doesn't provide your health data to data brokers or advertisers.
How is my RISE data stored and protected?
Rise Science, Inc. implements commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect your personal information both online and offline. Full details are available in the RISE Privacy Policy.
Can I delete my RISE data?
Yes, you can permanently delete your RISE account and all associated data at any time through the RISE app. Go to Profile > Delete account and confirm the deletion. Once deleted, your sleep history, sleep debt data, and personal information are permanently removed from RISE servers. Deleting your RISE account doesn't cancel your subscription — make sure to cancel your RISE subscription separately before deleting your account.
