To manually adjust your sleep need in RISE, go to Profile > My sleep need > Adjust, then use the plus and minus buttons to set your preferred number.
Step-by-step instructions
- Open the RISE app.
- Tap the Profile icon in the top right corner.
- Tap My sleep need.
- Tap Adjust.
- Use the + and - buttons to increase or decrease your sleep need.
- Save your changes before leaving the page.
Your updated sleep need will immediately affect your sleep debt calculation and other RISE metrics.
When should I adjust my sleep need?
You don't need to adjust your sleep need in most cases. RISE estimates your sleep need automatically by analyzing up to 365 nights of sleep data, and the estimate may refine itself over time depending on how you're sleeping.
If you're new to RISE, give the app a week or two to refine its estimate. If it still doesn't match your experience after that, you can adjust it yourself using the steps above.
