To use RISE on your Apple Watch, install the RISE Watch app from the Watch app on your iPhone, then enable sleep tracking on your Apple Watch.
How to install the RISE Apple Watch app
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down to Available Apps.
- Find RISE in the list and tap Install.
Once installed, the RISE Watch app appears on your Apple Watch. If RISE doesn't appear under Available Apps, make sure your Apple Watch is running watchOS 7 or later and is paired with your iPhone.
How to enable RISE sleep tracking with Apple Watch
- Open the Sleep app on your Apple Watch.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to enable sleep tracking.
- Wear your Apple Watch to bed each night.
RISE checks Apple Health each morning for the previous night's sleep data from your Apple Watch. When you don't wear your Apple Watch to bed, RISE falls back to automatic phone motion-based sleep detection.
How to add the RISE complication to your watch face
- Press and hold your current watch face to enter edit mode.
- Swipe to edit complications.
- Tap the spot where you want to add RISE.
- Scroll through the list and select RISE.
The RISE complication displays your current energy level at a glance. Tap it to open the full RISE Watch app, where you can view your Energy Schedule, check your sleep debt, and manage your Smart Alarm.
Troubleshooting RISE Apple Watch connection issues
If RISE isn't picking up your Apple Watch sleep data:
- Make sure the Sleep app on your Apple Watch is set up and sleep tracking is enabled.
- Open the Sleep app on your Apple Watch to force the latest data to sync to Apple Health.
- Force close the RISE app on your iPhone and reopen it.
- In the Apple Health app on your iPhone, check the priority order of sleep data sources. Drag Apple Watch to the top of the list to make sure RISE reads Apple Watch data first.
