If your RISE sleep times don't match what you experienced, the cause may be how RISE is detecting your sleep. Phone motion and mattress detection work by picking up movement, so if you were lying still without moving or touching your phone, RISE may have counted that time as sleep.
How to improve RISE sleep tracking accuracy
First, check your data source by going to your Profile and tapping Data Sources to see which source RISE is currently using.
From there:
- Try mattress detection. If you're on phone motion, switching can improve accuracy — mattress detection picks up more subtle movement since it's on your bed rather than your nightstand.
- Connect a wearable. If you have a sleep-tracking wearable (such as Apple Watch, Oura Ring, WHOOP, Fitbit, or Garmin), connect it through Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android).
- Edit your sleep times. If a specific night looks wrong, you can manually edit the sleep entry in RISE.
