If RISE and your wearable show different sleep estimates, the cause is usually that your wearable isn't connected to RISE — and the two may measure sleep differently — or that its data hasn't synced yet.
If your wearable isn't connected to RISE
RISE and your wearable use different methods to track your sleep, which can result in different estimates. To rely on one sleep estimate, connect your wearable to RISE through Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android) so RISE uses your wearable's data.
If your wearable is connected to RISE
Your wearable data may not have synced to RISE yet. When you first open RISE in the morning, it may temporarily show phone motion data until your wearable finishes syncing through Apple Health or Health Connect — this can take a few minutes.
If it's been several hours and the numbers still don't match:
- Check which source RISE is using. Go to your Profile and tap Data Sources to confirm RISE is pulling from your wearable and not from phone motion.
- Verify your wearable is syncing. Open Apple Health or Health Connect and confirm that recent sleep data from your wearable appears there. If your wearable isn't writing data, RISE can't read it.
- Check data source priority. If multiple apps or devices write sleep data to Apple Health or Health Connect, the priority order determines which data RISE sees. On iPhone, go to Health app > Browse > Sleep > Data Sources & Access and make sure your preferred device is at the top. On Android, check Health Connect's data source priority in your device settings.
