If RISE shows your sleep starting partway through the night or splits your sleep into separate sessions, RISE may have interpreted something as the end of your sleep session — like checking your phone, getting up to use the bathroom, or a gap in your wearable data.
Phone motion is most susceptible to this — when you pick up your phone during the night, RISE may think you've woken up for good. Mattress detection can also lose you if you move off the mattress or shift significantly during the night.
How to fix missing RISE sleep chunks
- Avoid using your phone during the night. If you need to check the time, use a clock instead of your phone screen.
- Connect a wearable. A wearable tracks sleep continuously on your body and handles nighttime interruptions better than phone motion or mattress detection.
- Edit your sleep entry. If RISE split your night into pieces or missed part of your sleep, manually edit your sleep times.
