Rise automatically tracks your sleep without needing any hardware! We use your phone's motion activity combined with a fancy algorithm behind the scenes to estimate your sleep.
While phone motion isn't perfect, we've found it to be accurate about 80% of the time. It also means you don't need to buy an expensive tracker or wear something that might disturb your sleep. However, if you already have or decide to get a tracker that puts data into Apple Health, we'll use that too!
Only if your sleep times are very off you can fix or improve your sleep time accuracy by:
-
Manually fix sleep times in the Rise Progress Tab -> Sleep Times -> tapping on a specific day.
-
If you regularly take time between putting your phone down and falling asleep, you can add a Sleep Detection Buffer in the app.
-
Only if the time is really inaccurate, you can get an affordable second-hand tracker. This should only be a last resort if phone motion doesn't work at all. It's less about perfect precision and more about having tracking that give you a general sense of your sleep debt. Here are some options on eBay and Amazon.
We care more about helping you feel less tired and wake up refreshed by improving your sleep instead of just tracking it 😊
